Media Monsters User Guide

Your Media Monsters Station Ready email contains your station login link. You can also find it on your My Monster Profile page.

1. Open your station login page.
2. Enter the email address associated with your Media Monsters station account.
3. Enter your station password.

For your first login, use the temporary password supplied in your Station Ready email and follow the instructions to change it. Your station login is separate from your website login.

Once logged in, you’ll see your dashboard. There’s plenty to explore, but for now, scroll down to your station and click Manage.

Let’s give your monster something to play! You’ll upload your music and assign it to a playlist for AutoDJ

Understanding Playlists: Playlists tell AutoDJ which music to play and when. General Rotation playlists provide your station’s regular music, while other playlists can run at scheduled times or between a set number of songs.

We’ve already created a default General Rotation playlist for you. Use that to get started, and keep your eyes peeled for future tutorials on additional playlists and advanced scheduling.

Using the Web Uploader
You can upload music directly through your browser.

1. In the left sidebar, open Media, then Music Files.
2. Drag your prepared files into the upload area, or use the file-selection option.
3. Wait for the uploads to finish.
4. Select your newly uploaded songs.
5. Click the Playlists button and assign them to General Rotation.

Your music is now assigned to a playlist!

Using SFTP
For larger music collections, you may prefer an SFTP client such as FileZilla or Cyberduck.

Open Media, then SFTP Users. You’ll see the SFTP account we created for your station, along with the server connection information.

Use the exact username displayed there and the SFTP password supplied in your Station Ready email.

Important: Media Monsters uses port 2022 for station SFTP uploads—not the standard port 22.

For this example, we’ll use FileZilla Client:

1. Open FileZilla.
2. In the Host field, enter your server address with sftp:// in front of it.
3. Enter your SFTP username.
4. Enter your SFTP password, taking care not to copy extra spaces.
5. Enter 2022 in the Port field.
6. On the left, find the music files or folders on your computer.
7. On the right, you will see your station’s media folder.
8. Drag your files or folders from the left side to the right..
9. Wait for the transfers to finish, then disconnect..

Tip:FileZilla’s Quickconnect history lets you select a previous connection without retyping all its details.

Uploading is only the first step. Next, assign your music to a playlist.

Assigning Uploaded Music to General Rotation

1. Open FileZilla.
2. Return to Music Files in your station’s Media section.
3. Choose Unassigned Media.
4. Use the checkbox beside Name to select the displayed files, or select individual tracks.
5. Click Playlists button and assign the selected music to General Rotation

Tip:Check Unprocessable Files for uploads your station couldn’t read. Keep your original files, check their format and metadata, and upload corrected copies as needed.

Ah, the monster moment we’ve been waiting for—and getting connected is frighteningly easy!

From your station management page, find Streamers/DJs and click Manage beside the gear icon

You’ll see the streamer account we created for you and the connection information for Icecast clients.

For this example, we’ll use Mixxx

1. Open Mixxx
2. Open Preferences and select Live Broadcasting
3. Choose Icecast 2 as the server type.
4. Copy the server address, port, and mount information from your station’s Icecast connection details
5. Enter your streamer/DJ username and password.
6. Choose your broadcast format. Ogg Vorbis works with AzuraCast, which converts the incoming audio to the station’s configured output format.
7. Save your settings and enable live broadcasting.
8. Play a track and check your station’s public player to confirm that your broadcast is coming through.

Tip:Keep the player muted while you broadcast to avoid hearing a delayed copy of your own audio.
